Genevieve Redding is a contemporary realist painter based in Charleston, SC. Themes in her work include the juxtaposition of beauty and pain, as well as, melancholy, or the happiness of being sad. Mediums include oil, watercolor, and charcoal, through which she explores the transformative effects of light and color and the abstraction of figurative subjects. Through her work Genevieve combines contemporary and traditional painting techniques.
Genevieve’s artwork has been exhibited at the Opera Gallery in New York and in a solo exhibition at gallerinanyc. Her work has been featured in Huihuatang art magazine in 2022 (China) and in Neoque magazine, Fall 2020 (Milan, Italy). Genevieve is a graduate of The Savannah College of Art & Design.
